Mounir Ayache Franco-marocain, b. 1991

A French-Moroccan artist, Mounir Ayache explores the intersection of art and contemporary technologies. His practice questions and reinvents the political, social and cultural realities of North Africa, West Africa and the MENA region.
Mounir Ayache subverts the representations of the ‘Other’ and the ‘Foreigner’ inherited from Western imaginaries, by utilising emerging technologies as tools for creation and storytelling.
His practice thus blurs the boundaries between contemporary art, popular culture and entertainment. Having been exhibited at venues including Manifesta 13, the Villa Medici, the Arab World Institute, the Jeu de Paume and the Lyon Museum of Contemporary Art, his work benefits from increasing institutional recognition. Alongside his artistic practice, he develops an active practice of research and outreach. He delivers lectures and leads workshops both in France and internationally.
