About

Founded in 2019, MCC GALLERY was initially a space dedicated to the exhibition and promotion of contemporary photography. In 2021, the gallery will leave the old medina of Marrakech to move to the industrial district of Sidi Ghanem in a 600 m2 space, and will be renamed MCC GALLERY (Marrakech Contemporary Collection).

This geographical move also marks an opening and an interest for the bigger contemporary art narrative, positioning the gallery as a leading platform whose mission is to champion aesthetic, artistic and cultural practices, in the African continent and its diaspora.

The choice of Amine El Gotaibi's inaugural exhibition is not coincidental, it traces the path and the link of the artist through his work in Africa. This link with the continent represents a line of force that composes and defines the mission of the gallery, and sets the tone for the quality and diversity of its programme.
