MCC Gallery welcomes artist Mo Baala for a long-term exhibition titled Under the Silver Tree, opening on November 2 across the gallery’s various spaces.

Leather and wood cutouts, textile works, paintings, drawings, collages, and installations come together in a rich polyphony of media. The artist’s universe, shaped by life’s upheavals, including the separation of his parents during childhood, resembles a true cosmogony.

Populated by hybrid creatures and whimsical motifs inspired by the cities of Taroudant and Marrakech, his decentralized visual world is filled with personal symbols drawn from both scholarly and popular culture. Through his mastery of diverse materials and techniques, Mo Baala draws viewers into a mental landscape where enchantment and unease coexist.
