On the occasion of its 11th edition, the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair brought together 62 international galleries at Somerset House, showcasing over 170 artists from or connected to the African continent. The event once again affirmed its role as a key platform for African and diasporic art scenes, highlighting a wide range of practices including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and installation.
MCC Gallery was pleased to take part in this prestigious edition with a selection of works by Amine El Gotaibi, Yassine Balbzioui, and Mustapha Azeroual. Through this presentation, the gallery highlighted three distinct artistic approaches rooted in hybrid contemporary aesthetics, oscillating between formal experimentation, explorations of identity, and dialogue with materials and technologies.
