Lives and works in Marrakech
After studying architecture at the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris, Houda Kabbaj devoted her career to photography.
Her practice navigates the boundaries between artistic production and research. Rooted in participatory and collaborative inquiry, her work proposes new ways of perceiving the environments that surround us. Through a series of experiments conducted across different territories, she develops a photographic investigation centered on diverse natural elements.
Houda Kabbaj is particularly interested in the possible intersections between the intrinsic materiality of photography and that of various natural properties. Alongside her explorations in nature, her work extends into the darkroom: the photographic lab has become a true field of experimentation and a way of engaging with “living” elements.
